Heya!

Finally finished with texturing and I think he turned out pretty damn great! 

It has been quite a while since I made some Spec/Gloss maps for an asset so I decided to put down my Metalness/Roughness for this asset, and it was a great way to refresh my memory of the process.

The next step in the process will be to pose him, brushing off another skill in rigging while doing so! Overall very happy with this project and I'm looking forward to bringing him to life!

Hello again!

Since last I posted, I decided to take my mask fellow into Zbrush and sculpt in more detail to his clothes and hanging coins.

After I had finished sculpting and test decimated the mesh a few times so Maya didn't crash on me, I then took both the hi and low poly assets into xNormal and baked out my Normal, Bent Normal, and Ambient Occlusion maps. The bakes came out surprisingly clean and only needed minimal cleanup, and once that was done, I put my model and maps into Marmoset Toolbag 3 and am very happy with the overall result.

Now comes the fun part! Along with his base color, I will also make a Specular and Gloss map for added depth and I cannot wait to post that progress very soon!

Stylized WIP - Mysterious Mask Character

First and foremost, hello!

It's a new year and that means new assets to be created! After a long spout of working on assets for others, I finally found the chance to work on a personal project that I hope to have fully finished relatively soon.

I was inspired by concept artist Yare Yue's character sketches and latched onto the mask character so strongly, that I began fleshing him out that day inside Modo.

With his base model done in Modo, I'm deciding whether or not I'll be using Zbrush to create a normal map for more detail or if I'm going to head straight to Photoshop and keep it diffuse map only. Sooner or later I'll make up my mind and when I do, I'll make sure to update this post with any and all new edits!
